Overview 

Vicinity Messaging Corporation (“Vicinity” or the “Company”) has recently completed development of an innovative mobile communications technology that expands existing on-line dating and social networking services to real-world, real-time situations. The service, known as Vicinity MessagingÔ allows users to browse the profile of, or to send messages (including text, audio or video) to other users in their immediate vicinity without any prior knowledge of their identifying information including name, phone number, email address or IM user names. The patented technology is expected to have numerous applications including:

n      On-line dating:

—        The ability of a user to instantly view the profile of any other user in their immediate vicinity to determine likes, dislikes or potential compatibility;

—        The ability of a user to then directly approach this person with some degree of confidence regarding potential compatibility; and

—        The ability of a user to anonymously or pseudonymously send a text, voice or video message to this person when personal contact may be difficult or otherwise inconvenient.

n      Social networking:

—       The ability of a user to immediately identify mutual friends, colleagues or acquaintances which they may have in common with any other user in their immediate vicinity; and

—        A frictionless way to contact potential business associates at trade shows or similar environments.

n      Advertising and direct-marketing:

—        The ability for users to immediately identify and approach other users selling items they may be interested in purchasing;

—        The ability for retailers to send highly-targeted, pre-approved electronic advertising to willing recipients at an extremely low-cost basis; and

—        The ability to create additional customer loyalty programs based on consumer behavior.

In order to prevent spam, each user will have the ability to select and filter, in advance, what types of messages they choose to receive including the form of the message, the profiles of the senders and the number of messages they are willing to receive. The recipient can choose to be notified immediately upon receipt of a message, on a periodic basis or through a manual inquiry at a time of their choosing.

The messages themselves may be retrieved by logging on the Vicinity Messaging website, or through any other means technically feasible including via cell phones, PDA’s or email. Identifying information of both send and recipient remains hidden until such time that a user may choose to disclose it to the other party.

Sample Profiles

The sample profile provides an example of the Vicinity Messaging mobile interface. Upon selection of a specific person in a user’s vicinity, the user can immediately request to view that person’s profile to determine compatibility, mutual interests or potential topics of conversation.
